Brief Description for  Changes to the 2014 NEC Course


This course is designed for 8 hours of continuing education to be performed Online over the Internet. This course consists of 20 server graded and recorded tests. Each test consists of 10 questions for a total of 200 questions covering changes in Chapters 1 through 9 of the 2014 NEC. Each question covers one or more changes and in some cases cover a code wide change. A graphic illustration is included with each question.   Test questions are designed to present the code changes in a format that requires the user to read and understand the essential language for each code change. Tests are timed and cannot be submitted over the internet for grading until a minimum elapse time has passed. 
 

Course Objectives: 

Learn approximately 200 significant changes to the 2014 National Electrical Code.  These changes are the same as in the 2014 NEC Analysis of Changes Book published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the International Association of Electrical Inspectors' (IAEI). 

Learning outcomes:

The learned material is measured through taking tests that require a passing grade of 70 percent or better.  After a test is submitted it is graded by the server and the grade is immediately returned to the student.

Course prerequisites: 

This course covers the 2014 National Electrical Code changes.  The NEC is not written for untrained persons.  This course is for journeyman level electricians, master electricians, electrician supervisors, electrical administrators, and electrical engineers or anyone wishing to learn about the NEC that has the time and willingness to study.
