210-52(d) Bathrooms. For dwelling units, at least one wall receptacle outlet shall be installed in bathrooms and shall be located within 36 inches of the outside edge of each basin, and shall be GFCI protected per Section 210-8(a)(1).

The 36 inches wording replaces "adjacent to each basin location" so now there is no confusion, and one receptalce can serve two basins if within 36 inches of each.
